                                            Hi.
I am a scenographer, and most often work as a scene and lighting designer, and a scenic artist for the theatre. I have also designed costumes and been a technical director. I teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in design and technology.

My MFA is from Northwestern University. I've just returned from being a Fulbright Traditional Scholar in South Africa at the University of the Witwatersrand Drama Department and the University of Pretoria Drama Department.  I've designed theatre, opera, and musicals across the United States and abroad.  Notable productions include Picasso at the Lapin Agileand Urinetown at PCPA Theatrefest. I've also designed a new play, Moliere, for the American University in Cairo, Egypt. I've designed for Little Theatre of the Rockies, the University of Colorado - Boulder, the American Theatre Company, Illinois Stage Company, Tulsa Youth Opera, Northwestern University, Creede Repertory Theatre, the University of Scranton, Northern Illinois University,  Oklahoma State University, Texas Tech University, and  Allegheny College. I 'm a Scenic Artist member of USAA.

                                            More---

I'm an Associate Editor for the USITT journal TD&T and a member of the Scene Design Commission. I was selected to review graduate and undergraduate portfolios for USITT's Young Designer's and Technicians Award in 2007 and 2008. My work has been seen in designer's showcases at USITT conferences. I've presented painting and design workshops at USITT and regional conferences. I've been a member of USITT since 1977 and have been a frequent portfolio reviewer since 1992.

My research has taken me overseas to South Africa where I researched design and technology, vendors and education,  China where I studied Chinese watercolor and calligraphy, Taiwan where I studied Chinese Opera, and Italy where I studied Trompe L'Oeil. I've received several grants and fellowships to conduct this research. I use the synthesis of Eastern and Western painting styles in my designs and scenic art. I was Charge Artist for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival for seven years.
