ROSCO Scene Paint Workshop
Saturday November 20, I organized and taught a scene painting workshop using the Rosco Off Broadway and Supersat paints. We painted the image to the left of drapery with fringe and tassles using a bistre technique, following the watercolor style best suited for using the Rosco paints. This was one of the first times Rosco paints have been used in South Africa.
Several South African design professionals as well as Wits students, faculty and staff were particpants. All were amazed at the vibrancy and dilute-ability of the Rosco paints. The news that JC JOEL will be investing in a line of Supersats beginning in January, and a reflection of the cost versus dilute-ability made the professionals smile and look forward to the future of Rosco paints in South Africa.
Ron Knell, the U.K. Rosco Representative provided the paints used in the workshop. Oliver Hauser of Congo Blue delivered the paints and provided Rosco signage and Rosco Vivid FX paint kit for a door prize.
